About

Counseling Mission

To help our students prepare to become the next generation of parents, workers, leaders, and citizens, AST provides support, guidance, and various opportunities for our students. Our school, through our wonderful teachers, advisory program, and support staff, is here to support students in their path to adulthood.

Counselors provide guidance and support to students and families about issues including study habits, friendships and healthy relationships. We also support students through periods of stress and anxiety, and other concerns.

They’ll find in their school counselors a listening ear, an endless cheerleader, and a pillar of support.

Students may refer themselves to a counselor or may be referred by a teacher, parent or a concerned friend. The counselors can also assist with referrals for external, private individual or family therapy.

Counseling Domains

College Counseling

At AST, we offer a comprehensive program that guides students, starting from their freshman year, to plan out their high school academics and extracurricular life, and to provide insights and sneak-peaks into what life in college will be like.  Transition into college is an exciting and important milestone for our students, families, and our staff. We understand the importance of making informed decisions and how the role of social-emotional learning impacts college admission choices. Counselors at AST are committed to providing the best support we can to our students in preparing them for college and life beyond.
